1 – The Vanity of Human Wishes

 

New wine is poor; old water is not good.

Water and wine are equal in the veins.

While half matures the other half decays. 

What feelings lose imagination gains.

Subtraction and addition keep such pace

that in the end I find myself amounting

to that first zero where I started counting...........
