Maggie looked back the way she had come and there, huge in the dark sky, was the planet Earth. She was surprised to see just how beautiful it was floating in a dark sea of space – stars sparkled all around it.
She could see the white clouds over the wonderful blue oceans and the browns and greens of the continents.
It seemed so distant and she felt frightened to be so far away from all the people, and things she knew.
She could see the big island of Britain and near the top of it where Glasgow was ... where her mummy and daddy and her wee sisters were ... where her new home was at Pollok House.
Maggie wondered what people would say if she told them that she had flown to the moon on a magic carpet, and looked down on the whole planet. She thought they might think she was mad.
So, she decided not to tell anyone. She would keep it as her little secret!
