Maggie and the Little Pollok Carpet
Page 9

Though the moon always looked nice from Earth, Maggie thought it was a bit boring much closer up – apart from the lovely smell, of course!
So, she climbed back onto the carpet and turned towards Earth which got bigger and bigger by the minute till she was once again flying over Pollokshaws and soon she was hovering above Pollok House. The birds flew away towards the trees, leaving Maggie alone on the carpet.
She leaned slightly forward and moved the carpet towards her window and flew inside. She pressed her hands into the carpet and it softly touched the floor. The sound of snoring filled her ears.
She stood up and walked to the window. The moon looked much smaller than before and had moved away and was almost hidden by the trees.
The sky began to lighten in the east as the sun prepared to rise and bring in the new day – Maggie's first day at work.
